A 'Bluetooth watch' for those too lazy to answer their mobiles

Washington, Sept 29: Next time someone calls you on your cell phone, you can check your watch to find out who's calling instead of dishing out the handset from your pocket. Sony Ericsson has designed a Bluetooth watch, the MBW-100, that lets you control your mobile phone and answer calls through a wireless head set. The watch is not as chunky and ugly as other Bluetooth watches available in the market, but features a stainless steel construction with silver facia. A tiny OLED display under the analogue watch face tells you who's calling you while your mobile is stashed away. You can choose to reject the call by pressing one of the keys. It also notifies you when you've received a text message, and when you've gone out of range of Bluetooth connection with your mobile. The watch also allows users to play the music content stored on their mobile phones. "The MBW-100 is the must-have mobile phone accessory for people who enjoy using the latest technology to stay connected to the world around them. It has sleek lines, classic looks, a distinguished presence and represents a first as a mainstream Bluetooth fashion accessory from a mobile phone supplier," the Daily Mail quoted a Sony spokesperson as saying. The invention may sound like a lazy way of operating your mobile, but might be very useful in a crowded, noisy place and where you can't hear your phone or feel it vibrating. The gizmo which was developed in partnership with designer label Fossil, is expected to retail for around 200 pounds when it goes on sale later this year.
