Austrian Bammer wins Pattaya Women's Open

Bangkok Feb. 11: Austria's Sybille Bammer saved three match points to beat Argentine Gisela Dulko 7-5 3-6 7-5 at the Pattaya Women's Open on Sunday for her first WTA title. Sixth-seeded Dulko had a chance to win the match but began to unravel and committed a series of unforced errors in the deciding set, which opened the door for the unseeded Bammer to close out the final. "Its great. I'm very happy to win my first title," int.iol.co.za quoted the 61st-ranked Bammer, as saying. "Its one of the happiest days in my life." Bammer said she started out slow and struggled early on against Dulko's aggressive baseline game and strong serve. But in the end, it was Dulko's errors at crucial points in the match that was the difference.
