Bangkok, Dec 4: Schools in seven districts of Thailand's Pattani province reopened Dec. 4 and are allowing teachers to carry guns after a week-long closure prompted by attacks on teachers. Although 100 schools in remote areas of the province remain closed, the teachers' confederation said that all schools in Pattani's 12 districts will reopen Dec. 6. The Education Ministry said that few teachers have applied for relocation and that it is promoting temporary teachers to civil servants.
