Thailand to get 3,000 and 5,000 MW electricity from Laos

Bangkok, Nov 12: The energy ministry has revealed that they are planning to sign an agreement with Laos to purchase between 3,000 and 5,000 MW of electricity from Laos later this year. "5,000 MW is feasible," Energy Minister Piyasvasti was quoted by VNA as saying. He also said that the agreement to acquire more power from Laos would enable Thailand to accommodate many new projects. The power purchase agreement will be signed by the countries' prime ministers during the opening of the new Thai-Laos Bridge.
